Role of Application (Apps)

Applications, also known as mobile apps are software programs developed that run on smartphones and other mobile devices (Viswanathan, 2018). Today, the availability of mobile applications is on the increase and people utilize mobile applications for multipurpose and now it became an important role in human life. Nowadays, the use of mobile applications can be seen in a lot of areas such as communication, shopping, online banking, education and entertainment. Thus, the app developers are always working to keep up to date with the demands to satisfy the users’ needs and experience.

The use of mobile applications can be seen in many areas. One of the common areas is communication. There are a lot of apps for communication such as WhatsApp, WeChat, Snapchat and Facebook Messenger. WhatsApp is one of the popular instant messaging app. WhatsApp is a messaging platform which helps people communicate and keep in touch with each other day to day instantly via the internet without any charges (Riyaz, 2018). People can send unlimited messages, share photos or make video calls anytime to anywhere. Besides that, it is user friendly. It can be used by the young generation as well as the old generation. The simple interface design makes it more effective and easier to use. Hence, the apps for communication have developed for easy and better communication.

Besides than apps for communication, there are some apps for services such as Booking.com. Booking.com is travel website for booking hotels and other accommodation. It was established in 1996 in Amsterdam and has grown from a small Dutch start-up to one of the largest travel e-commerce companies in the world (Booking.com, 2018). At Booking.com, it connects all the travellers with the world’s wide selection of accommodation, including apartments, resorts, hotels and more. Thus, the customers can book their ideal accommodation instantly and easily by using Booking.com apps. It help the customers to save their time and make their life easier.

All in all, smartphones play an important role in every aspect of people life and the most essential part in smartphone is applications. Nowadays, application development industry is rising. People have mobile applications for everything, right from ordering food, booking hotels and even getting a cab. It is very useful and surely make a great difference in people life.
